Before the fire burns the hem

LET us trace the steps back to Yemen but this time we should use the righteous international gate, religions and practices, which consider stability vital to the existence of nations, states and groups, not just to strengthen international relations.  Yemen is currently facing one of the most dangerous conspiracies as the evil-doers have been trying to wreak havoc in the country.

If Yemen has the right to seek assistance from everyone for its stability and to prevent its transformation into another Somalia, which has been maintaining the dismal situation in Sana through the presentation of imaginary conditions?  We should not forget the conversation between King Hussein Bin Talal and President Gamal Abdul Nasser during the 1967 Arab Summit in Khartoum after the Arabs were badly defeated in the war.  At the time, King Hussein said “we follow whatever Abdul Nasser says”, and then the latter replied “deal with the evil to regain your occupied land.”  Whoever tries to stop Yemen from exercising its right to safeguard its territory should always remember this conversation.

Groups keen on ‘exporting’ chaos and fighting from their homes to the regional countries by carrying out their evil plans should be aware that they can never realize their dream to control the region.  Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh knocked on various doors to negotiate and unite his people.  He has repeatedly called for a peaceful resolution between the feuding parties.  However, the stubborn Houthi and al-Qaeda fighters have continued to ignore the appeal of the Yemeni president.  These fighters have been working hard to transform Yemen into a center for crises to ‘export’ violence to neighboring countries and other parts of the world.

The whole world has been witnessing how the countries, which disregarded the international law, support the terrorists who destabilized the region.  Recent terrorist activities and the global financial meltdown added salt to the old injuries of regional states.
Does Yemen have the right to eliminate ‘germs’ which have been killing its people and weakening the country?  Does Sana have the right to stop attempts to divide and destroy the nation or reject foreign intervention?  As Arabs, don’t we have the right to question those who think that Islam allows them to kill innocent people in mosques?  We demand plausible answers to these questions, but we should focus more on preventing killers hired by regional authorities.

In fact, Saleh has the right to seek assistance from different governments, including the neighboring countries, US, EU and Islamic world to stop the terrorist acts.  He should ask the people to look into the correct image of the ongoing fighting in Yemen to fully understand it. The entire world would never understand the real meaning of tolerance if Muslims refuse to cut the terrorist hands, which tarnished the image of Islam in the international community.  The problem is not Afghanistan and Somalia.  Muslims should find out who have been killing them as they have the right to seek assistance from anyone before the fire burns the edges of their dresses.
