KUWAIT CITY, Dec 29: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti media man for causing the death of a young Kuwaiti girl from a wealthy family, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to the daily the media man married the girl in secret, rented an apartment at an unidentified location and they had been living together. He reportedly kept taking money from her and finally made her sign a promissory note for KD 300,000.
The relation between the couple soured and he used the promissory note as a weapon to threaten her when she demanded divorce.
The wife kept paying money from time to time and when she got tired of blackmail she called her husband and threatened to jump to her death from the roof of a building under construction.
It has been reported the wife’s friend informed the husband and told him to take the threat seriously. However, he thought it was just another hoax, but the wife kept her promise and ended her life.
The media man has been referred to the Public Prosecution.

8 held in vice den raid : In line with directives issued by the Director of the Farwaniya security directorate Brigadier Ghaloum Habeeb, security officials arrested seven Asian expatriates — five women and three  men — during the raid of a prostitution den in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh on Monday.
Acting on a tip-off, officials in the governorate raided the suspected flat and made the arrests. All the apprehended persons were referred to the authorities. They are expected to be repatriated after the necessary formalities are completed. A case was registered.

Dancing on roads: Police have arrested three Kuwaiti youths for consuming alcohol, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The ‘drunkards’ were caught dancing on a main road in Abdali and allegedly tried in vain to escape when they saw a police car.
