Kidnappers kick out maid from moving car after seeing police 3 held for kidnapping maids
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 23: An Egyptian expatriate aged 36 years registered a case at the Fahaheel police station, accusing unidentified persons of threatening him and taking his wallet on Tuesday.
The victim told security officials that he was stopped by two persons while walking along the road in the area, and was threatened into giving them his wallet. He complied with their demands and they fled from the scene. The complainant then decided to report the incident at the police station.
He described the two men’s appearances to the officials and reported the loss of KD 90, his Civil ID and banking cards along with the wallet. Investigations are on to find and arrest the accused.
3 held for kidnapping maids: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti citizen working for the Ministry of Defence and two Egyptians for robbing Asians and kidnapping Asian housemaids from homes in Farwaniya, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Al-Hassawi, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The daily quoting security sources said police acting on information launched a hunt for the car driven by the suspects and saw them driving with an Ethiopian maid in Farwaniya.
Seeing the police car, the suspects kicked the maid out of the moving car and tried in vain to escape.
The suspects have been referred to the authorities. The maid has been referred to a hospital with serious injuries.
Egyptian held with drugs at airport: Immigration officials at the Kuwait International Airport have arrested an Egyptian for attempting to smuggle hashish and narcotic pills into the country, reports Al-Shahed daily.
According to reports the man came aboard Kuwait Airways flight. The contraband and the suspect have been referred to the General Department for Drugs Control.
Thieves break into fund’s office: Police are looking for an unidentified person for breaking into the office of the Patients Relief Fund at the Physiotherapy Hospital in Andalus. The intruders are also said to have damaged the contents of the office, reports Al-Shahed daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit. It is not known if the thieves have stolen anything valuable.
