Dependent visa
My wife and I are working in Kuwait. My wife is a medical doctor working with a private clinic. We brought our child, who is one and a half years old, on a visit visa but on my wife’s sponsorship, since the salary that is shown on my work permit is only KD180/– (KD One hundred eighty only). My question is that is it possible under the existing immigration rules to get a resident visa (dependent) on my wife’s sponsorship or is there any other way to transfer the sponsorship to my name.

Answer: Your wife can’t sponsor the child as only fathers can, except in some specially circumstances and yours is not one of them. However, when both husband and wife are working, you can club your salaries to show a reasonable amount of income. In such a case, you will be allowed to sponsor your child.
