Christmas Cake

Ingredients:
12oz plain flour;
1 tsp. mixed spice;
4oz ground almonds;
8oz currants;
8oz sultanas;
8oz raisins (stoned);
4oz cherries (halved);
8oz butter;
8oz soft brown sugar;
6 eggs,
beaten with 8 tbsp milk;
1 tbsp black treacle

Method:
Mix flour, spice and ground almonds together. Clean and mix fruit. Beat butter and sugar to a cream. Beat the eggs and milk together. Mix all these ingredients together. Add the fruit last. Bake for about 4 hours. First hour in a moderate oven 180°C, then slow oven at 150°C.
