Deported
I am a professional from India and was locally hired by a reputed company in Kuwait. My manager had me terminated from work, saying that I had been absent from work for more than seven consecutive days. Since there is no official attendance recording system in the company, I could not prove them wrong and they asked me to change my sponsor. After, a great search, I could not find a sponsor and the company lawyer advised me to move to Shoun (Labour Department) for claiming termination. On doing so, the company filed the complaint with Ministry of Interior (police) and got me arrested at the airport, when I was moving to out of Kuwait voluntarily. Finally, I was finger printed and deported.
My wife, who is working on Article 17, was not able to move immediately. Now her employer is not giving her an exit letter to move out of Kuwait.
I had a car, obtained on loan from NBK and there was an amount due on my credit card with NBK — all were left, as these were and later the NBK staff took custody of the car, since my wife nor I could not pay the installments.
I wish to come back to Kuwait, as I am getting good job offers and my investment in apartment and my family is in Kuwait. Kindly let me know the remedy for all the three above stated.

Answer: Your first act should be to find out under what article of the Labour Law you were deported and whether you have been blacklisted. This can be checked by your wife from the Interior Ministry. If there is a ban on you, then you have to wait for a year before you move to have it lifted. As for your wife’s exit, this is something she has to negotiate with her employer — it might be linked to the loans you have taken. And lastly you can give someone a ‘power of attorney’ to discuss your situation with the bank.
