Fourteen cellphones and KD1,200 stolen from shop Former MP given two years jail

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 17: A Kuwaiti, in his 40s, and his Bangladeshi worker filed a report Wednesday at Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station against unidentified persons who allegedly broke into his shop and carted away with 14 mobile phones worth KD1,200.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidence Department rushed to the location and lifted fingerprints to identify the thieves. A case was registered and police are now looking for the suspects.

Dud cheque issued for KD 5.5m : The Misdemeanor Court of First Instance Thursday sentenced a former MP J. Al-Kandari to two years imprisonment for issuing a dud cheque for KD 5.5 million to a Kuwaiti businessman and referred the civil case to the concerned court.
During a previous session attorney Abdul Hamid Al-Sarraf had told the court the accused had issued the check to his client with full knowledge that he had no money to cover the cheque amount.
He requested the court to give the man stiff punishment. The session was presided by Judge Esam Al-Fahad.
