Kuwait City 15 Dec : Acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, the Farwaniya police recently raided an apartment in Firdous and arrested 50 Asian prostitutes and some men who had gone to seek pleasure, reports Arrouiah daily. All those arrested have been referred to the authorities.

3 arrested for trading in booze: The Ahmadi police have arrested three Asians for trafficking in locally-manufactured booze, reports Al-Dar daily. A security source said the men were arrested while driving along a coastal road with 44 bottles of home-made booze. The contraband and the traffickers have been referred to the authorities.

Man run over by neighbour: The remains of an unidentified man, who died after he was run over by his neighbor, have been referred to Forensics, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The mishap happened in Al-Qairawan and the man allegedly died on the spot. According to reports the culprit, a Kuwait woman whose identity has not been disclosed, was on her way home and she reportedly fell asleep on the steering wheel and failed to see the victim. The man died on the spot. The motorist was taken to a police station for interrogation.

Yemeni infiltrator arrested: The Mubarak Al-Kabir police have arrested a Yemeni who had allegedly infiltrated into the country two years ago, reports Al-Shahed daily. According to reports the man was caught by chance by a police patrol in Sabhan. The man after seeing the police vehicle became nervous and tried in vain to escape. He was referred to the State Security police and it has been learnt he belongs to the Houthi tribe.

Narcotics smuggler’s bid foiled: Cust-oms officers at the Kuwait International Airport recently foiled an attempt by an Indian man to smuggle narcotics into the country, reports Al-Shahed daily. The daily said the man arrived at the airport aboard a Kuwait Airways flight from Dubai Customs officers are said to have seized from the man 677 ampoules containing narcotic substance in addition to 5,955 narcotic pills and referred him to the concerned authorities.

95 bottles of local brew seized: The Abu Halifa police have arrested five Asians for trafficking in locally-manufactured booze, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily quoting security sources police caught the men with 95 bottles of home-made booze while driving at an unidentified location. The contraband and the bootleggers have been referred to the authorities.

Drug addicts, reckless motorists held: The Jahra Night Patrolmen during a crackdown on reckless motorists and motorcyclists in Kabad and Salmiya have arrested 23 persons for violating traffic laws, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. During the campaign police are also said to have arrested seven drug addicts and issued 224 traffic citations in addition to impounding 14 vehicles for violating safety regulations. The vehicles have been towed to the ministry garage.
