Stop this foolishness of Travel Ban

AGAIN we highlight the issue of travel bans being imposed on citizens who fail to pay debts as low as KD1,000 or even  KD300.  This travel ban, which is applicable only in Kuwait, is like a sword on the necks of citizens.
Citizens who have not paid their loans should not be prohibited from traveling outside the country because they are not involved in criminal cases.
Moreover, non-payment of debts is not tantamount to theft, embezzlement or swindling.
Do the proponents of this restriction believe that a citizen, who has not paid loans amounting to KD1,000 or less, will leave everything behind, including business and property to avoid payment of a small debt he has been forced to obtain due to a temporary financial problem?
We have to stop this foolishness which ‘slaughters’ Kuwaitis mercilessly.  Forgive us!

DebtsWaqas Yasin Amin | 5/4/2010 10:25:58 AM Interesting article, no offenses but why only "CITIZENS"?? My uncle is on a travel ban, reason? He Had an accident June 2008, which burnt 40% of his body. He had his treatment here in Kuwait, and went to Home country for further treatment, came back December 2008. He was going back to his home country in Feb 2010, just on the immigration counter he found he is on a TRAVEL BAN, when inquired it came to our knowledge, that the accident inquiry officer mistakenly/willingly put everything on my uncle. Now he is stuck here, missed TWO very important family occassions, and waiting for the date at Court for the 3rd time....... So, the Government need to redefine the TRAVEL BAN phenomenon.
You got your word!Roland | 1/21/2010 10:50:09 AM I would add: does Kuwait need money?
