The fault is not in the text; it is in the spirit
SINCE the law in the country will always remain unchanged in its fairness, any provocative speeches made outside the Palace of Justice are useless. The law is the supreme judge of people and will take its course through the Public Prosecution and the Kuwaiti courts. Kuwaiti citizen Mohammed Al-Juwaihal is surely aware of this fact.
However, every politician feels that his viewpoint is the most accurate and can help him achieve personal agendas. Therefore, he becomes extremely vocal in defense of his tribe or political bloc. All these are merely political frivolities that will not penetrate the walls of the Palace of Justice, as the law will continue to be applied equally, whether for cases related to national security or freedom of expression.
All of us must remember that there are no special laws for certain MPs, officials or personalities like Mohammed Al-Juwaihal. Anybody who thinks otherwise can be assured that the same set of rules will be referred to when dealing with any individual in the country.
Forgive us!
